RKR Certified Wireless Professional
Predictive design. High density. WPA3-Enterprise. Proven with surveys and captures.
The blueprint
A 14-week, 18-lab professional certification that builds complete WLAN design-and-delivery capability: calibrated predictive models in Ekahau AI Pro, AP-on-a-stick and active validation surveys, high-density capacity engineering, WPA3/802.1X/EAP-TLS security against live ClearPass, fast secure roaming with 802.11r/k/v proven at the frame level, and voice-grade QoS — culminating in a graded capstone design defended before a review board. Comparable in rigor to Aruba ACMP and CWNP CWDP; every competency assessed on demonstrable output.
Skill domains
6 assessed domainsRF Engineering & Spectrum
- Link budgets, FSPL and fade margin computed, then verified on the floor
- SNR-to-MCS mapping on Wi-Fi 6/6E/7
- Spectrum analysis: classify interferers by FFT signature and duty cycle
- DFS behaviour and 6 GHz PSC/AFC channel planning
Predictive & Validation Surveys
- Requirements interviews translated to quantified RF targets
- Calibrated Ekahau AI Pro predictive models with measured wall attenuation
- AP-on-a-stick, passive and active iPerf survey execution
- Pass/fail validation reporting against -65/-67 dBm and SNR targets
High-Density Design
- Airtime-demand math: derive AP count from device and application profiles
- Channel reuse, cell sizing and directional antenna strategy for 400+ seat venues
- Band steering, min-rate tuning and airtime fairness, measured under synthetic load
Enterprise Security
- WPA3-Enterprise with EAP-TLS: PKI, enrolment, ClearPass policy, AOS-10 binding
- 4-way handshake and EAP exchanges decoded in Wireshark
- MPSK for IoT, OWE guest, dynamic segmentation with role-based enforcement
Roaming & Client Experience
- 802.11r/k/v and OKC identified and timed from multi-channel captures
- FT roams verified under 50 ms; sticky-client autopsies from RSSI traces
- Cell-overlap design that makes clients roam when they should
QoS & Real-Time Apps
- DSCP-to-WMM mapping audited end to end with synchronized captures
- EDCA parameters and their behaviour under congestion
- Voice-grade sign-off: MOS, jitter and loss measured on live roam-while-calling tests
Signature labs
Rack time, not watch timeAP-on-a-Stick Validation — correct a predictive model with staged-AP field measurements
EAP-TLS from Zero — CA to ClearPass to AOS-10, proven with an annotated capture of the full exchange
Roam Capture Clinic — frame-by-frame 802.11r FT timing on a live voice handset across three APs
Auditorium by the Numbers — 450-seat HD design defended in a live review, then stress-validated under emulated client load
Compound Fault Gauntlet — timed 3-hour restoration of a four-fault customer escalation on the remote rack
RCWP Capstone — full two-building design package defended before an RKR review board
How you are examined
Proctored 90-minute theory exam (70 scenario items with heatmap and capture exhibits, pass 72%) + 4-hour live practical: predictive design to spec, WPA3-Enterprise/EAP-TLS build on ClearPass and AOS-10, roaming proof from capture, and a defended validation report. Rubric-graded by RKR examiners; minimum 75% overall, no domain below 60%. Credential links to your verifiable graded lab artifacts.
